It is the world's greatest and oldest statue in history; it has the shape of a mythical creature known as the Sphinx, which has the body of a lion and the head of a man, which is probably shaped after King Khafre head as a symbol of wisdom and might. In ancient times, it was called "Hor-Em-Akhet" which means "Horus of the Horizon" but now it is known as Abu Al-Hawl, which means The Father of Terror in Arabic.

The Citadel has been overlooking the glorious city of Cairo for more than 800 years. It looks over the entire city of Cairo from the hill of Mokattam since its construction in 1182 AD by the great conqueror Salah El-Din. It served as the center of rule and a powerful fortress against foreign invaders like the crusaders & napoleon's French invasion. Inside the citadel lie several museums and beautifully structured buildings. The Cairo Citadel served as the headquarters of the government for more than 700 years. The citadel was the witness to all the biggest events that ever took place between its walls.

The mosque has gained the name of the alabaster mosque due to its unique design and the extensive usage of marble. It was constructed between 1830 and 1848 AD to be a replica of the blue mosque in Istanbul and act as a symbol of independence and freedom against the Ottoman Empire. Mohamed Ali Mosque is truly enchanting, with its ottoman style architecture of French rococo influences with enchanting finishes of ornate of red, green, and gold, and a great, enchanting dome. The mosque holds an ornate brass clock, a gift from King Louis Philippe of France to Muhammad Ali in 1845 in exchange for an obelisk that stands in the Concorde Square in Paris.

Al-Muizz Street is a golden open-air museum that acts as a cultural gathering that was made during the 10th century AD in the center of Cairo to be the main street of the Fatimid capital, located subsequent to the incredible Khan El Khalili bazaar.

Khan El Khalili is the oldest and most active street in the Middle East, which became known as the golden brick road of the Middle East. The street dates to 970 AD and remains very busy & active till today and contains everything a traveler might dream of, plus all the magical cafes and shops that date back to countless generations. All the phenomenal Islamic architecture and decorations of the street are in a very intact condition and are totally hypnotic & enchanting.

Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa is truly hypnotic as it acts as a beautiful piece of art symbolizing the influence of the ancient Egyptian culture on the Greco-Roman Period. It was built as a necropolis dating to the 2nd century AD, which is able to merge the artistic elements of the Hellenistic and Roman culture with the ancient Egyptian Pharaonic design in the ultimate breathtaking fashion. It holds a great number of Greek and Roman artifacts and decoration in its three-level stories, which made it gain the title of one of the seven wonders of the Middle Ages.

Pompey's pillar is famous for being the largest monolith column ever built outside of Rome. It was named Pompey's Pillar as in the Middle Ages the Crusaders mistakenly believed that the remains of the great Roman general Pompey were located in a pot at the very top of the pillar. It stands at a height of 28 m and is 2.7 m wide of pure red granite, and on its western upper side is a Greek inscription dedicated to Emperor Diocletian.

It is the beautiful fusion of Greco-Roman & Islamic architecture; it was constructed in 1477 by Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf al-din Qa'it Bay on the same site that held the legendary lighthouse of Alexandria, using the stones salvaged from the destroyed lighthouse that served as the third longest surviving ancient wonder in the world until its destruction by a series of earthquakes between 956 AD and 1323 AD. Qaitbay Citadel is famous because it is believed to hold the immortal illuminating spirit of the Alexandria Lighthouse, plus some incredible designs from the Islamic era.
