Fly to Amman and then catch a bus There is another suggested way to head to Petra from Cairo which is catching a direct flight from Cairo to Amman and upon your arrival; you can catch a bus from Amman Abdali Terminal to Petra. This way can take up to nine hours and forty-five minutes to reach Petra from Cairo. Although the second option is the most expensive one, it is the most recommended way to reach Petra from Cairo as it takes the shortest period of time to reach your destination, the safest, and the most comfortable way of transportation.
